Community Entry, Opokuma/Oyobo, Bayelsa State

The Gender Advocacy and Women Resource Centre (GAWRC) carried out a community entry exercise in Opokuma/Oyobo, Bayelsa State, to launch the preparatory phase of Project Zero Tolerance for Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The visit served as an introduction to the project, engaging community leaders and members in meaningful dialogue on GBV prevention, legal literacy, and collective responsibility.

Community leaders expressed a strong commitment to supporting the initiative, with the warm reception from Oyobo’s leadership underscoring the community’s readiness to partner in advancing gender justice and human rights.

This entry exercise marks a significant step toward fostering collaboration and ensuring local ownership in the collective fight against GBV.
