Online harassment is a criminal offence in Nigeria.
Under Section 24(2) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2024, it is illegal to send threatening, abusive, or harassing messages through text, social media, email, or any digital platform with the intention to bully, intimidate, or instill fear of violence or harm.

This law recognizes that digital violence is real violence, and it carries serious consequences.
A person found guilty under this section can face up to 10 years imprisonment or a fine of ₦25 million.

Let’s raise awareness, hold perpetrators accountable, and build a safer digital world for women and girls everywhere.
